Rhodes Academy Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Culture, Color, and Pride

Rhodes Academy scholars honored Hispanic Heritage Month with a joyful showcase of culture, history, and tradition. Throughout the week, classrooms explored the rich contributions of Spanish-speaking countries, culminating in a vibrant dress-up day where scholars and staff wore traditional outfits representing their heritage.

From embroidered dresses and guayaberas to folkloric accessories and flags, our hallways came alive with stories, music, and pride. Teachers integrated mini-research projects, geography connections, and art activities to help scholars understand the meaning behind each garment and celebration.

Families and staff joined the fun by sharing photos and background on regional clothing, music, and customs. The celebration reinforced our district values—Innovation, Accountability, Purpose—by elevating student voice and fostering a welcoming, inclusive school community.
